That is not a fair assessment. Builds are basically play styles. When a build like 600/smite and even perma/ursan becomes unplayable a certain play style that people might have learned to love and had fun with becomes unavailable. So there will always be some that will find the game not fun anymore and possibly quit after such changes.

I can see what you're saying but SF is a single skill, not an entire "build" or "playstyle." Ursan I can see as being a "playstyle" because it gives you a new bar, but all SF does is make you really hard to kill. Any "playstyle" anyone had set up before should still be there after the nerf, they'll just have to change how they handle the build because they'll be squishier.

Maybe I'm missing it but I'm not seeing the similarities, maybe you can help me out? 600/smite and Spirit Spam at least have a synergy going with their skills, SF is a one button wonder that just makes you hard to kill.

i believe i read somewhere on here that anet did say they didnt have plans on nerfing SF because in some areas it made pug groups be able to do certain areas with balanced teams. it gives flavor yes, i also understand that SF has made farming easier. Imo as a sin is my main i really could care if SF got nerfed because im skilled enough to think outside the box and use different skills for farming or just use another character. big deal Besides i only use SF for farming areas and my other pve areas like quest & mishs i never use sf. So go ahead and nerf sf.. big deal.. it would be kinda of funny seeing people that made sins JUST for farming QQ in toa.

Nope, leaked info just came out.

Duration is now 600 seconds, with a 1 second recharge, it only costs 5 energy now, and when it ends, you lose 25 health and gain 60 energy.

Oh, and when you cast it, it does 6000 damage to everything in the area.

Unfortunately, Frenzy is getting "nerfed"...

You now take over 9,000x more damage, but you attack 60,000% faster and gain 10x adrenaline.

Why not make SF turn u invisible or maybe turn u into the form of selected foe and walk around amongst them..kinda like "wonder twin powers activate..Form of a NAGA" ( sound effects ) ( music ) Imagine running through uw as a smite? you dont deal any damage or take any damage and when its over.. just like the incredible hulk turning back into bruce banner you end up naked and have to resign because your armor was put into storage for using SF.... lol ( can u see how ridiculous its getting? )

OR.... Go -Go-Gadget Shadow Form.....

Possibilities are endless.....

the problem here is that many threads are being created about SF but with non sense like Should it be nerfed? Please Nerf SF! Please don't nerf it people will leave the game. I just stated what Anet said about speed clears and shadow form and I think it's important warn people of Anet's future projects. Anet stated that it wasn't not only Dhuum's Update that will change the speed clearing concept. Many of you said Is this the anet solution?. Dhuum's Update was one of the best updates - you have lore, you can have fun with a group, and not speed clearing it. And we didn't pay for it. Moreover, Anet should change SF because it is not even fun farm with it. I don't have money. Oh wait Shadow Form, I've money again. And that is the cycle that must meet the end for being repeated a lot. Anet is giving us a chance to find a funnier and better way to stay in group (confirmed by Dhuum's update) and making the game a lot more balanced. When SF was at his max you could have seen like 80% sin always on and in ToA to UW and FoW and other farming places. And then I see some replies that nerfing it is making the game unbalanced. Totally non sense.

FINALLY! As a prolific HM farmer/speedclearer/record holder AND a user of SF for speed clears i can honestly say im glad to see it go. Now we can start relying on a more exciting team set up.
I have always hated SF, it made lesser players/teams/guilds look pro.
This is 2 years overdue
I look forward to setting the new DOA record!
Watch this space for BSway!! (Blue screen way) or even NUway (new usan way which doesnt involve ursan, raven or wolfen blessing at all)

If Shadow Form will be nerfed in such a way that it can't be maintained then at what use will this skill be?!? When sf will end u will probably one hit and cause u took all the aggro u will be dead 100%.
If it sf will become like mist form then it will be too weak.

Nerfing sf for sins will need to be compansated in a way. In the only way I see is to increase his damage (and I'm not talking about a low increase in damage here).

Nerfing the 600 will be also a problem. What's the % of succes for regular parties on doing foundry in nm and how about hm? Trust me after failing 3 weeks in a row with me ele trying to do foundry in nm with parties (6+ hours every day) I decided that the only way to do foundry is to pay for a run cause is just a waste of time.

Nerfing the farming ways and they will have an insane number of complaints. If they will not change it probably they will lose a lot of players (unless this is what they want and when money talks (GW2)...)

Nerfing the ele farming ways will annoy the eles. A lot of ele farming ways are way more harder then the sf farmer.

There are a lot of problems in finding decent parties. If you ask me nerfing the farming ways is a bad decision (excluding the idea that u want to make people buy GW2 or other games you make, but then again this is a dangerous way cause people will say hey they nerfed the farming ways, now we can farm in GW2 but they nerfed it once they can do it again so they can just decide to buy and play games made by other, counting on players addiction is not the best idea).

Did they ever looked to see that there are outpost empty for days? Did they looked that in those outpost you have to do the quest with henchies and heroes (if u have them). Not all the alliances/guilds are big so u can find 7 people always online.

Anyway I will go do some speed booking to max out my rank.

Nerfing farming/running ways without making those area easier is just stupid. How about the prices impact? Let's just say the ectos are now 5-6k. Without farming this price will go high and i will not be surprised to see ectos at 20k. Same problem for gems,gold items, mods, inscriptions. High prices will have a negative impact on any online game. This will be a side effect that will lower even more the number of players.

Maybe...

For 5-30 seconds, all hostile Spells that target you fail and all attacks against you miss, but you deal 0% damage. When Shadow Form ends, lose all but 5-50 Health.

Or

For 5-30 seconds, all hostile Spells that target you fail and all attacks against you miss. Shadow Form ends if you use an attack skill. When Shadow Form ends, lose all but 5-50 Health.

I think there's several ways that it could be altered without causing sins to become castaways. Either one of the above would effectively kill speed clears as it would still require teammates of other classes. It's been altered 7 times since March 2006. 5 of those were last year.
